The specialist supplier of exhibition furniture and equipment wanted to reduce their energy consumption and control rising energy costs. Having over 150,000 items in stock and in-house ready for immediate dispatch requires substantial organisation and a large footprint in order to safely store, pick and load goods onto transport.
Such space requires specialist lighting to ensure lighting levels are aesthetically pleasing but more importantly compliant with relevant CIBSE lighting standards to ensure a safe operating area.
GET Solutions surveyed the building and provided recommendations to improve the lighting and reduce the operational costs of the building, furthermore by utilising GET’s funding package, the business was able to offset the cost of the lighting project with the savings generated by the lighting equipment so that they were cash positive from day 1.
With high ceilings, the project required specialist lifting and installation equipment and as such the continuity of their daily operations was of paramount importance. This required GET Solutions to carry out the project through a 2-week factory shutdown over the Christmas period. With over 540 fittings, this was no mean feat and to ensure the deadline was achieved, the size of the installation team was scaled up to ensure it was completed in a timely manner.
The LED equipment provided a massive 68% reduction in consumed power which equated to nearly 350,000 kWh. With an expected lifespan of over 13 years, Creative Hire has protected themselves against the rising trend of energy prices.
